PL has inherited 5 values, they are - Godliness, Respect, All-Round Excellence, Committment, Enthusiasm. These values are to be kept in our head and it would mature us in the future.
Godliness - It means that we should aim to live a life that is pleasing to God, virtuous and upright. We should be pure in thought, speech and actions. Refrain from speaking profanities. To have a positive mindset about life and encouraging our friends when they are down. We should also have a mind of our own, to stand up for what is right even though we have no back-ups. We should also influence others to do what is right, and not wrong. Godliness also tells us to be actively involved in community services, like CIP activities organized by the school, helping the poor, the sick, needy and elderly.
Respect - Respect ourselves by treasuring ourself. This can be demonstrated by taking pride in our work, dressing appropriately and smartly, and taking care of our own body, take proactive measures to care for our own well-being, health and appearance. Respect others by greeting all authorities, showing courtesy to others and cating for the school and public property and co-operate and work well as a team. By respecting others, we could be a role model and have a positive influence on others, to respect and appreciate dfferences in others without compromising the school values.
All-Round Excellence - It simply means to pursue excellence in everything we do; to be resilient and innovative, by exploring and discovering new knowledge and develop new learning skills, to set ambitious but attainable goals and persevere towards achieving them, to be eager to experiment with new ideas and new ways of doing things, striving to surpass our personal best, and to respong psitively to challenges with willpower and courage.
Commitment - To be faithful, responsble and dedicated in performing one's roles, to be loyal to the nation and school, by singing the national and school anthems with pride,, representing nation and school well, taking responsibility for our own learning by doing homework well, to be punctual in attendance and prompt in meeting deadlines and to see all tasks to their completion, take responsibility for our independent learning by reading beyong the text in search of new knowledge.
Enthusiasm - Living life with a purpose and passion. Can be shown by being proactive and contribute actively in our roles, to be inquisitive and take the initiative for our own learning, engaging in independent learning and higher-order thinking, being passionate about learning, to intiate and lead in school programmes, and to live a purposeful life.
